Summary: After joining up with the League of Unusual Guys, Gary Miller and Ryan Bishop must engage in the most daunting mission yet. They face off with an evil organization know only as The Dread. The Dread, with its mutant creations, have one mission, world domination. This time they are stealing a growth serum. With this serum, they can create an army of unprecedented power, beings with superior strength and size.

History of Case:Gary and Ryan had been friends since college, and they had always dreamed of being heroes. In late 1996, they discovered that the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was indeed alive and active in America and many parts of the world. They eagerly applied for membership, and met with key leaders of the organization.

They were rejected.

However, it is often said that when one door closes, another is opened. Indeed, they soon learned of the League of Unusual Guys (LUG). They met with Daniel Atachison Drake, known as DAD. They were warmly received and accepted as members of the organization.

Now, Gary and Ryan are knee-deep in the most daring adventure since they had been accepted into the organization. They have been placed on the front end of the effort to thwarting the activities of the Mighty Dread – LUG's arch rival. Recently, the Dread had smuggled cases of a powerful growth serum from RAD Technologies and have been using it abundantly to create an army of giant mutant animals to advance their goals of taking over the world.

Unsure of how much of the serum has been stolen or where the serum is, DAD sends Gary and Ryan on a wild goose chance. Their only lead is the trail of an escapee from RAD Technologies – the vicious bird, Samuel L. Bluejay. Following this trail, they discover a trap set up by the deadly creature, known only as Mega Squirrel – a creation of this growth serum. Anticipating this confrontation, Gary and Ryan have built a large mech robot, known as the “Werewolf.” They battle Mega Squirrel.

However, Flester Flock arrives with an army of crows to instigate his will. Gary and Ryan are surrounded and captured. They are imprisoned in a bird-cage shaped cell, but Gary and Ryan come up with a plan. While Ryan has Mega Squirrel distracted, Gary picks the lock on the cage with a stick of deodorant and escapes. When, Flock discovers that Gary is gone, he threatens to have Ryan “tarred and feathered.” Near the point of Ryan being dropped in a pool of tar, Kevin comes to the rescue. They must escape Flock, and Kevin is almost lost in a battle with Samuel L. Bluejay. Then, Gary arrives with the mech and takes down Mega Squirrel. Finally, they engage in a battle with Flester Flock that will become legend in the LUG archives…
